With the Nordic region as its home market, NCC is active throughout the value chain – developing and building residential and commercial properties, and constructing industrial facilities and public buildings, roads, civil engineering structures and other types of infrastructure.

NCC’s vision is to renew our industry and provide superior sustainable solutions.

INTERNATIONAL PURCHASER - TECHNICAL INSTALLATION SUBCONTRACTS

The role of NCC’s purchasing organisation is to provide the business with competitive and sustainable solutions regarding supply of materials and services throughout the value chain of NCC’s projects and operations. A strategic action is therefore to internationalize the supply base. International purchasing at NCC is managed through a specialized unit, NCC Purchasing Group (NPG). The unit’s primary targets are to make sure that materials and services meets our demands and that purchasing can be done in an easy and efficient manner independently of origin. While NCC is primarily active in the Nordics, it is represented by NPG’s purchasing offices around the world.

TASK: To NPG we are now searching for an International Purchaser, who will be the Supplier Base Manager for one of our preferred categories. Your main task will be to develop the assortment of technical installations subcontracting meaning the fields of electrical, HVAC and plumbing subcontracts. In practice it means: sourcing the market for suitable partners, prequalifying and developing them, as well as supporting throughout the purchasing process including sending inquiries, evaluating offers, negotiating, writing contracts, quality inspections and follow-ups on site. You will take active part in the entire process from purchasing requisition to final inspection on site according to NCC’s polices and processes. The role entails strategic as well as operational parts.

ORGANISATION: NPG is currently going through a very dynamic period with its responsibility area growing as purchasing patterns within NCC is transforming and becoming more centralized. As International Purchaser you will be reporting directly to one of the regional Market Managers, who is also a member of the management team of NPG. You will be placed at NCC’s office in Riga, Latvia. You will be in close collaboration with other centralized purchasing functions such as category managers and lead buyers, and in your day-to-day work you will be in direct contact with project purchasers and site managers.

PERSON: As a successful candidate, you should preferably have:
  • Excellent drive and communication skills,
  • Work experience from company or a related consultancy or client within the installation field,
  • Work/export experience from any of the Nordic countries,
  • Excellent negotiation and cross-cultural business skills,
  • Understanding of the construction process,
  • Basic knowledge about contractual and legislative conditions,
  • Language skills: Latvian and proficient English needed. Swedish or other Nordic language as a large advantage,
  • Flexible and independent, including ability to take initiatives,
  • Quality-oriented and risk-aware attitude,
  • Willingness to travel, approx. 50-80 days/year.

SPECIFICS OF POSITION: It is important to understand that even though NPGs main task is international purchasing, much of your daily work will be promotion of international supplier base to internal customers. Purchasing of technical installations subcontracting services to the construction sites is decentralized at NCC, meaning that each site takes its own decisions on what and whom to purchase from. It is therefore vital to have developed the correct supplier base (quality and cost) and have the ability to promote this supplier base to project representatives (the internal clients).

NCC offers a competitive salary, benefit and bonus package (depending on experience).
